Lemon Liqueur
The word “Limoncello” is now so commonplace and nondescript that it is often a cover for dire concoctions of very poor quality. San Lorenzo has decided not to use this name, although it is appealing, opting for a more informative, sober and specific term “Lemon Liqueur”.
This fruit infusion is produced in Amalfi, from the legendary Sfusato Amalfitano, the lemon traditionally grown in this coastal area. Its unusual properties include an abundance of essential aromatic oils in the rind. It is precisely this high quality rind which makes the difference in alcoholic infusions. It has a moderate alcohol content (35%). It should be drunk chilled, but not iced, as a particularly awful tradition demands – taking the side of those who need to hide the flavours and aromas of their product rather than enhancing them.
